Nissan Patrol question...

One here for patrol owners/experts, I've recently bought a 96' 4.2 LWB Petrol, unfortunately I didn't get any form of owners manual with the car and the vehicle was bought from a general trader so they couldn't shed any light on the following... the car has an E-A/T switch with "Power" "Auto" and "Hold" options, the car is in Auto mode at the moment as this seems to be the default, there is a light which (that illuminates the "Power" option on said switch) occasionally comes on whilst driving any ideas what it does?
Secondly The vehicle has a diff lock switch, I assume this opperates a rear diff lock?
