Friends

Any advice on whether it is possible / viable to retrofit a PTO to a Disco 300 TDI?

Your thoughts appreciated

Could those things be run of off hydraulics? Or use Quad bike type implements?

Are you chopping body work or just towing something behind?

for towing behind standard Disco for use in Equestrian paddocks.

We already have PTO driven equipment from the old yard, but unfortunately no vehicles with a PTO !!!

Knowing that some old series Landies had PTOI was wondering if the disco could be so equipped.

If not excuse to buy old tractor !

In reality an old tractor would be easier. There are a number of things that make it difficult on a disco, for one there is no provision for the shaft to get to the rear of the car.

An old tractor will also have a 3point linkage which you will probably need.

just about any series can be fitted with a PTO as can just about any defender- although earler the better- in reality you could make a PTO fit a range rover/discovery chassis although you'd have to drill a couple of holes and would have some issues with fuel tanks (which you'd probably have to split into 2!)

Alternatively the PTO could run a hydraulic pump which could then run a motor out the back!
