Hi..

We had a great day out at this place driving the Landrover and Humvee H1 in impossible conditions and extreme angles! These guys really know their stuff and I can definately recommend it for a gift or corporate day out. Great selection of vehicles too...

For a 4 ton vehicle it was suprisingly agile and went everywhere the new landy went. This place has some incredible terrain that I would even think twice about walking around. Never driven off road like this before, but it was going downhill quickly, into very steep, sharp and scary turns and down through small lakes etc.

There's no apparent descent control like the landrover has, but it was just a case of staying off the brakes and accelerating everywhere. Think I did ok though. If I had the spare cash, I would definately have one. This one was an ex-CNN Desert Storm media platform.

..I'LL BE BACK!!!

it looks very very cool! must have been quite un-nerving to be charging down a hill without a low box in a vehicle like that!

First time I saw an H1 was at War and Peace. Chatting to the owner, about the drivability of something so wide, he told me that the first time he acquired it in London, he drove it down a few narrow streets heading for the M25 and could hear a clicking sound. Turned out he was hitting the wing mirrors of parked cars on BOTH sides of the street at the same time!

The driving and front passenger accommodation is quite unusually restrictive for something so wide and there is about a metre between occupants due to the fact that the motor and tranny is set high up inside the cab out of harms way.

Apparently the US Army cut their old ones up after decommissioning, but the USMC will sell theirs off quite happily to anyone

A genuine USMC restored H1 complete with turtle back, desert paint, and a 50cal atop will be my No.1 purchase when my lottery ticket comes up!! I'll even swap my ARVN cammies for BHD tricolours!!
