Hi.

I'm hoping I can get some help. I am Fleet Manager for a UK de-mining company, I have a large fleet of Toyotas based throughout Sudan, all are fitted with winches. We have been buying T-Max recovery kits up to now, I'm hoping to find a better solution. I need 18 kits, each to contain Snatch block, D-shackle, Bow shackle, Tree strop, Tow hook and safety gloves. Anyone out there who can supply these kits or put together an equivilent kit for me? I have 90 vehicles so would want more as we go along.

Any help or recommendations for suppliers much appreciated.

Cheers.

Which model T Max have you been using? How are they working out? The only people I know who have any experience with them seem to conclude that they are a bit "happy shopper", but I'd be interested to hear what you've found.

You might want to add a few details as to what you're looking for on here to save some time( ie rating, electric or hydraulic, cycle rating, steel or plastic rope etc etc)

Good luck.

Thanks for the reply, I'm not after a winch at all, I'm after the recovery kits spec'd in my first post. We use the T-Max recovery kits currently, just because they are easy to buy and come in a bag, I want something better. We use a variety of winches on Hilux's, Landcruisers, Bedfords, Unimogs and all sorts of other kit, the biggest problem we have is with a lack of knowledge on how to use them properly. Warn always seem to provide the best performance.

Cheers.

Try David Bowyer

I'm sure he would make up what you want and it would contain the items he considered right for your job i.e. not under or over specified and at the right price. His CDs could go some way towards your training issues.

I have no connection just a satisfied customer.

Been well muddy 4 times now.
Was at Slab Common Bordon last Sunday. Tank training ground so quite challenging. Also the CORE site near Funtington is good but mostly clay so a right pain to wash off.
Where do you play?

Hi Guys.

Thanks for the suggestions, I've managed to get kit sorted now. We have armoured vehicles called Mambas that are just a heavily modified body on a Unimog chassis, same drive train and axles, all heavily protected. They aren't that good, carrying a lot of weight.

Anyway, thanks again for the suggestions.

Cheers.

Steve, have been to Slab quite a few times now, great site. Also have been to CORE quite a few times, and totally agree with your clay comments!Stick, sticky stuff indeed.I might go there to spectate at a trial tomorrow depending on the weather.Going to Broxhead on the 27th with the AWDC, should be a good turnout and a break from the turkey. Also, do a lot on the Plain, have been to Muddybottom but it's a limited site.Bunny Lane at Romsey used to be good but it's offline at the moment.

So, did you build the Range Rover based thingymajig?

For winches and all the equipment needed, try "Winch Solutions" http://www.winchsolutions.co.uk/

They are very obligueing, and good prices too!

(I'm nothing to do with the company, just a happy customer!)
