Rangie Novice needs advice....
Discussion
Back in Feb I bought an '89 vogue 3.9 Efi auto. My friends and I are going to Le Mans in a few weeks and was wondering if we should do any specific checks/ changes other than oil levels, water etc.
Any tips on anything that will decrease the likihood of breaking down would be very much appreciated.

How's your budget?
It'd be worth replacing all the rubber hoses and coolant or at the very least the hoses that are looking even slightly iffy.
The radiator would benefit from a professional flush or better a re-core.
A new set of pads (and discs if needed) would be great.
Check the front swivels are not leaking and your ujs are in good nick.
Grease all of your nipples (insert joke here!)
How are your tyres? Is the spare any good and of a similar size to the ones on the car? Does your jack work, do you know how to use/place it? Is your wheelbrace man enough for the wheelnuts?
Is it worth fixing the tailgate latches to make sure the boot can be locked securely? (I ask this because they're nearly always fubard!)
Now would be a good time to check every bush on the suspension - you won't break down as such, but it might make for odd handling on a long journey. Likewise for springs and dampers.
Do you have AA European cover? And a mobile that works in France?
I'm sure others will fill in all the bits I've left out.
