Seen plenty of Suzuki at Pay‘n’play days and have been impressed with how well they cope even with few modifications.
Don’t know of any specifics to look for just the normal rust and unwanted mechanical noises. If you are going to go play with it then it won’t be long before you break or bend it yourself so its current condition is relative.

Couple of pics to wet your appetite.

For the sake of £14, this book is well worth a read.

I'm looking at getting a Suzuki with Morebeanz off here, and that book gives a very clear indication of what you can do in terms of modifications with each of the main models, including the Vitara.
