Evening all.

Not really posted on here before, thought I'd pop in and say Hi. Just bought this beasty.
A 1990 Range Rover Vogue in pretty good nick. Luckily not too good to offroad tho! Amazingly I've got full service history with it and the original bill of sale for 31k. Also a bill of sale from 4 years later for 15k!!!! God bless these fatcats who buy these things and don't care about the depreciation, it's all the better for us 18 years down the line!!

Totally standard for now, but not for long!

Enjoy the pics, hope to see some of you out and about this year. Anyone got any off road parts for these available in Scotland???

Don't be too sure of that biggrin They're more capable that most people will ever know. Probably just as capable as my Discovery.

Nice motor. Looks like it's had shocks done (Britpart yellow??) You will find a LOT of stuff out there for mods / upgrades. Try Paddock Spares, MM4x4 - or get a Land Rover magazine and allocate a budget smile

I would have a list which went a bit like:
Recovery points (JATE rings)
Diff guard
Steering guard
235/85 MT tyres
2" suspension lift
New plugs and good quality leads and a lot of time waterproofing them
a cb
some strops
light guards
tree sliders
Famous Four heavy duty bumpers
a nice winch
dual battery set up
Roll cage
snorkel
...

did I miss anything?

Sounds about right, funnily enough you'll find most of these things on my want ad on landrovernet wink An LPG conversion is happening soon too. Got a pair of brand new JATE rings sitting somewhere I never fitted to my last one too.

No bobtailling on this one cos a) it's too good and b) I won't be able to fit mountain bikes in it!!

A good place to start for advice and bits is Strathearn Engineering near Auchterader, Perthshire.

Good guys and very knowlegeble about all things Landie/Rangie oriented.

Even with a 2" lift 235/85s won't fit a RR. They will foul the arches & chew the bodywork front & rear on full articulation, jam in the rear arches, same, and foul radius arms on full lock. Also wont fit in spare wheel well. 235/75 is as big as you can go without above problems, although even then very knobbly MTs like Grizzly Claws or Insa Turbos may catch the body in extremis. Sure you'll have an inch less ground clearance than a Defender, but with good MTs and the V8s power you will usually do just as well. I've had 2, both autos, and now I've got used to it prefer my 200Tdi (manual) Disco for the extra control on difficult descents. However you'll have lots of fun with the RR. Enjoy it.

Hey! Nice looking Vogue. Just got 1 myself in the same sort of spec. Was wandering to what extent u would go to water proof the car?... Dont forget all the relays under the seats!! I had a sticking relay for the abs pump that stuck on & burnt it out!!
Watch this space, I'll try & get some pics up as mine progresses...

Happy Modding!

I've just bought a Rangie 3.9 for a bit of off road abuse and I was about to swap my wheels from the 110 this weekend. My 110 set are 265/75x16 Insa Turbos on 8" Mods. The wheels are 4" back and 4" front offset.

Q. Will these foul the body on the RRC? I have a 1" lift (soon to be 2")

I'm happy to give it a go in the name of research, but if anyone can stop me making a horrible blunder now, please stand up.

I learnt that the Disco wheels I had on my 110 fouled the front arms on full lock with the 265 tyres, but the Mod wheels sorted this and now they don't touch at all. In any event, I assume that the articulation has to be very extreme for the tyres to foul the arches.
