Who hasn't took their 4x4 off road yet
Discussion
Well, this is asking, of all the 4x4 croud, who has NOT took their P&J through the muddy stuff.
Well, I haven't yet, as I have only had it a month or so.
I am also a bit worried about any damage I could do.

.
I am hoping to get down to Morocco late summer this year.
Then I can appreciate Toyota to the max.

Me!
I've had my Freelander 1 (2006 Td4 5dr)since June and not had chance to see what it can do.
I've been looking for an event which isn't going to cause damage (as it's my daily driver, and still looking tidy), with some instruction to guide me through... Unfortunately most of these things seem to be pretty hardcore (needing a lifted defender, and not being worried about a few scrapes). I got a LR experience taster thrown in when I bought mine, which was good - but I want to do something similar (perhaps a bit more challenging), in my own motor - but a bit more in-depth.
Living in Derbyshire, I quite fancy doing a bit of greenlaning - but I want to find out the motor's limits, and learn at least the basics before getting out and about. I have taken a first step - I joined GLASS at the 2007 Abingdon show...
If anyone's got any suggestions for events/courses that might be appropriate, then I would be grateful for any pointers...

If you want to try a bit of laning check out www.laning4fun.co.uk . They're a very helpful group. We've taken our Freelander out with them a couple of times and they know what the vehicle is capable of, so won't push it beyond it's limits. They know what they're doing too, so will be happy to give you a bit of training and give you a pull if you get stuck The majority of them are based in Cheshire but they regularly pop into Derbyshire

I knew a guy who bought a brand new LC in 2004 and went offroading regularly in it.....
Wasn't long before the panels were all dented and he eventaully rolled it over. He earned the nickname 'Cruiser Abuser'! The guy was loaded so trashing the car was not an issue to him. Still it made a refreshing change fom the usual parade of 30 year old Land Rovers.
EDIT- I might also add it was an extremely capable vehicle once all the extraneous trim had been ripped off!

Holy st
Never seen a 120 Land Cruiser put to the test like that !
Any more pictures or links
Does look rather good wading through that deep stuff !
Also might add, even though it may have rolled , it is still on the road, and it was an LC5 = Top of the range !!!!!!
