I want to camp in the rear of a double cab pickup with hardtop

But bed length is limited in these cars about 1500 ish.
Ideally want another 20 to 30cm

Is it possible to remove the whole rear panel below the rear window?
Any pickup let's you do that?

I would have thought it would be easier to extend it out where the deck folds down. Either that or get something more suitable for what you're intending.

Any pickup let's you do that?
Generally the bed separated from the cabin entirely. Allowing the chassis to flex more freely in offroad environments & meaning custom upfits can be more easily added to the chassis.

So cutting from the bed into the cabin would be removing structural sections of the bodywork.

With the rear gate down you gain that length, make a cover to attach to the hardtop in the form of an 'extension tent'.

There are a few tailgate tents that suit a pickup
