4x4s more expensive to buy in winter or urban myth?

I'm looking to pick up (no pun intended) a Toyota Hilux and wondered if I need to wait until the start of summer to avoid paying winter tax or not?

Looking at a few years old, road use including vehicle transporting on trailer.

I'm ready to buy but can wait if it will be beneficial on choice and purchase cost.
