anyone else got a 100 inch defender??
Weeeellll.... That could mean several things. The New Defender 90 is 100" (IIRC 101.8") and although the 'Old' Defender was never produced as a 100", there were prototypes as well as Defender bodies on RRC/D1 chassis.
However, assuming you're talking more about the old-skool stuff, I think 100SRV has a 100" toy.

I have whats known as a 100" defender hybrid which is made from a RR Classic 100" chassis with a defender body mounted on it. There are a couple of us in my local area so thought id reach out to the wider car comunity in the offroad section to see if i could find more.
100" in the LR comunity was often seen as the sweet spot for wheel base as a lot of discos and RRC were bobtailed to maximse of the wheelbase.

Thank you!
The skeleton is robust, that mass includes all brackets for systems and most of them do at least two jobs so there are as few as possible.
It's a 3.9 from ACR with top hat liners and stage one cylinder heads, it goes very nicely! The custom valved Fox dampers with Tomcat low-rate springs give it an excellent ride and handling. KAM LSD/ e-lockers in both axles with KAM shafts, CVs and fusible stub shafts ensure there is reliable traction.
It's a lovely thing to drive on and off road.

I knew the Tomcats had a bit of weight in them from working on friends but I didn't realise the cage was 230kg alone, christ, they put some beef in that!
Skeleton is cage AND the chassis. Same mass as an Aston Martin Vantage BIW. I know which would survive a roll and be driveable after. :-)Gassing Station | Off Road | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
