Hi,

I have a TDV8 L322 on 19s in need of some fresh 255/55 rubber on each corner for the winter and before I drop £700 on a £2000 car I though I might seek some wisdom here.

The Grabbers have been great, road biased but never got stuck off-road. Car has to tow a 2.3 ton horse trailer over wet grass and very muddy tracks regularly and will do about 5000 road miles a year. The General Grabber XT have been great so no bother staying as is. But, I was surprised to note that Michelin across Climates are now available in this size and I love them on my 5 series BMW and would gives a great winter Enhancement I think.

Is there a current darling tyre I should be aware of for my user profile?

At the moment Halfords of all people seem to be doing the best deals as they will cover mobile fitting in my area (HR7) and prude seems better than local independents. As I'm about to spend a third of the value of the car I'm slightly queasy about making the investment. I think I
I will keep the old tyres (3mm) in case the turbo blow next week (163,000 miles on a '56 plate)!

Could be selling these as part worns quite feasibly!

Thanks in advance.

H

I’ve always used BFG KO2s. Decent on and off road, and not too noisy considering the tyre type. Maybe a bit chunky for a Range Rover though?
