What's in your breakdown/getting stuck kit?
Discussion
As a minimum:
- Gloves
- Round bladed shovel (not one of those stty folding jobbies).
- Tirfor (hand winch)
- Couple of shackles
- Strop
- Long rope (8-10m)
- Short rope (4-5m)
- Bridle
- Pulley block
- Chain
- D rings
Hi-lift jack and base.
Pointed shovel (works OK in all ground types we encounter in UK)
Very long rope
Shorter rope
Tree strop
Long bow saw
Lucky in that my laning car has chassis structure front, rear and sides suitable for using the hi-lift making self-recovery fairly easy if sometimes time-consuming.

I have a pair of waffles; also just got the wheel winch thing after reading about it in the thread below; and also a set of plastic things that go on the tyres, after reading about people using ratchet straps to attach bits of wood to the tyres, link below.
You need a shovel, as I got myself unstuck once using one when my front diff grounded in some ruts.
