I’m know ph has a few farmer boys on, but I’m hoping there are some on who mostly use compact tractors, not just the big 100k stuff.

Basically chaps what do you recommend? We are leaning towards a New Holland Boomer 35, I’m happy to hear all thoughts basically.

Kubota is the Rolls Royce of compact tractors,
I have L series which is the slightly bigger type
I use it with chain harrows and a flail mower etc,!
A friend has a boomer seems a good little tractor
Think the newer ones are made in Korea , the older ones
Are Japanese.. these little tractors are so useful and
Powerful for the size of them .. there are quite a few
Grey Import compacts about odd specs and the official dealers Are a bit funny about parts ,
all the known brands all hold their value so not
A bad investment if you have a job for one ..
Hope that helps...

I’ve got a little 3 cylinder diesel Yanmar F14D, 30 plus years old, less than 800 hours. Straight to me from a rice paddy in Japan about 7 years ago. I don’t know if they are better or worse made than a Kubota, but I will say they are properly engineered, like a full size tractor shrunken down. Selectable 4wd, portal front axle, 3 speed manual gearbox with 2 speed transfer case, locking rear diff, fiddle brakes, 3 speed PTO and hydraulics for implements, hand and foot throttle. I love it.
