What’s your budget?, from my own personal experience of them I’d say it’s worth forking out the extra for a Landcruiser.

Not really got a budget but always like to spend as little as possible to get the job done, may I ask what model of Landcruiser would you got for and why? Cheers

Depends what you want from it, I’ve had a 2004 Shogun 3.2 DID it had been looked after well too but had lots of issues with the brakes, blew a diff and had trouble with the super select 4x4 system, fuel pumps on these are also an expensive and common fault although mine was fine.
I know someone who had a newer mk4 Shogun which had a number of expensive issues too including the DPF.
The Landcruiser I had was a 2005 3 litre D4D and never had any issues, just serviced it and stuff like discs, pads and tyres, there’s a reason they command a premium over the Shoguns, they are a better car imo.
Perhaps I was just unlucky with the Shogun and the person I knew was too but honestly in terms of value and capability I’d sooner (and did) take a chance on a Rangie over another Shogun, if you want a robust, trouble free and very capable 4x4 there’s no beating a Landcruiser though-either the smaller one or the Amazon (a Nissan Patrol is as good from what I’ve heard but I’ve never owned one)

Interesting read, I wonder why the Landcruiser warrants a higher price but maybe it's ass you said

Landcruisers hold their money very well because they’re generally very reliable and a very capable 4x4, plus they’re not very big sellers in the U.K. so there’s demand and little supply when it comes to decent used ones.
