Any early Toyota 4Runner owners on here..?

I picked up my 1994 Gen 2 V6 3.SLOW a few months ago and absolutely love it.. Sure, it needs some work, and living on the South Coast isn't going to help the minimising of that..

I have picked up the odd part on RoughTrax, but kinda need pointing in the direction of some non-Toyota OffRoad parts e.g. Bumpers, Sills, Suspension etc.

Nice, they do hold their value well. As you’re near the coast I’d get some rustproofing such as waxoil done ASAP.

I've got a white one as well, 3,0TD with manual, it's my daily driver, 219k miles and still runs well, has been hit in the door by a chunk of my house, rusting away, definitely got the derelict look but I love it

Also have a black Gen 1 with an 22RE engine

Here! 1996 though and technically a Hilux Surf. Mine is the 2.7l four banger. Imported from Japan in 1996. I think it's one of about two left in Hong Kong, I've never seen another, of any generation.

The online 4Runner community is fantastic. There is so much information available on the internet. Hilux Surf Owners Bristol on Facebook is probably the nearest one for you. Most of them seem to have the 2nd gen.

For off-road stuff I think you want to search through the classifieds and Marketplace ads. I get most bits from Amazon/Ebay but I'm buying smaller parts not things like bull bars. I did have four steel wheels sent from the US for reasonable money though. Think they were $100 each landed.

I've spent quite a bit of time and money getting it back to OEM from this:

They are great cars but the automatic gearbox in mine is letting the side down a bit. Details in Technical section.

I enjoyed reading your blog. The guy who took 200kg out of a 996 is a friend of mine. CarreraLightweightRacing.

See how long it is before you want a Land Cruiser. I do, but the size and lack of diesel here makes it impractical. I've tried to convince myself many times but:

Another Surf owner here. Used as a daily driver and returns 30 mpg.
Does have a few battle scars but loads of fun.
