rofl

Have you seen the price. £3.6k rofl

no, just no.

BTW - has been done before using p38a bits. Plus there must be loads of generic air ride stuff in the USA that you could use for a lot less dosh.

Just looks like a lot more stuff to break or go wrong. So that’s a no from me too.

First thing I did on my old Disco 2 when an airbag split was convert to springs. The last thing I'd do to my Defender is put in air suspension.

Coil springs are also consumable parts. - The fronts on my Disco 2 sagged at least 1.5 inches. I find the SLS on the back much too good to consider a downgrade to coils. wink

Half considered this on my 100" car - quite a few benefits such as adjustable ride height / spring rate, on-board compressor for reinflating tyres.

Downside is relocating the dampers (they are concentric with the coil springs).

I stuck with Tomcat Motorsport coil springs in the end - no moving parts to fail and no impact on unsprung mass. Also nice low spring rates to suit the lighter vehicle which was my

I rarely change tyre pressure between green laning and road use so the compressor is of little benefit.

ISn't therer a downside that as you raise the height of the suspension you have to raise the pressure in the air bags thus increasing the effective spring rate!

Yes, precisely. Unless you have air as secondary acting on top of coils.

Arnott produced a solution for this for the p38. It has to do with surface area. As the airbag inflates it the contact area on the piston is reduced, so should give a more compliment spring.

The way they describe it is like pushing a single finger into an inflated balloon vs using your palm.

I don’t know if this kit employs anything like this though.
