18/19” off-road tyres?

Are there any big chunky off-road tyres in these sizes? Not regular tyre size but the big 32/35 things the real off-road defenders etc use.

Width doesn’t matter as going to need the wheels custom made as people don’t seem to do wide steelies in this size.

Have a look at BFGoodrich, they have a range on/off road chunky tyres. I have 255x75x17 KM2’s on my Wrangler, that’s a mud tyre 32+ inches. Black circles usually have their tyres listed.

You don’t say what application these are for but for good off road grip you probably want a small wheel (ie 17”) to give plenty of tyre wall

18” is as small as I can go to clear the brakes so I want big tyres to make up for the large wheels.

Something along the lines of 32/35 as per the first posted ones.

OK, there’s your problem, blackcircles don’t list any off road tyres for 18”+ wheels, maybe you knew that already, my apologies if I misread your post.

Off roaders want a small wheel with a big tyre wall so I guess there is no demand at 18”.

We need to know the application don’t we but that’s not a tyre I would class as ‘off road’ nor is it ‘big and chunky’ ! Total diameter 30”.

Nothing special just a cheap l322, used my old one off-road a bunch and it was really capable so fancy getting some proper tyres for this one.

I have a spare set of Mud/all Terrains for 20” wheels. Purchased them as in needed some 20” wheels for the bowlers track day tyres.

There are quite a lot of MT's available in bigger rim sizes these days. Although not all available in the UK.

Your biggest issue is total diameter. I see you mention 32/35 a few times. If you are meaning 32" to 35" tall. Then I think you'll likely hit a few issues.

Most of the MT's for bigger rims are generally large, 35-42" tall. And on an L322 I'd have thought you'd struggle to fit even a 32" tyre.

You'll need a lift of some kind to raise it above normal running height and you may need to trim some body bits. I know there is work to be done to fit this size tyre on a D3/RRS. So I'm assuming similar with the L322.

I realise they wouldn’t fit at standard height but you have 2 easy choices to raise the l322 as it’s on air.

Replace height sensor with extended arm version or just switch the arm

Or

As the guys making the range racer have discovered when trying to run it lower, put it in off-road mode then pull the relay and it will stay up even when exceeding 30mph.

Will you be using it off road? When the suspension compresses you loose all the lift, and the tyre is likely to foul. Not such an issue if it is road only use.

Although should it lower or you have an air suspension fault. It may cause some issues if the tyres jam in the wheel wells.

Mix of offroad and short trips on the road. Will have a second set of tyres/wheels if I ever have to go further.

Looks like they are 34.07" tall.

Would probably look awesome on an L322, good luck fitting them. Please post some photos.
