I need a farm/woodland beater of a truck, road legal would be handy, and under about 2k. I currently have a kawasaki mule, but no good on the roads, and no roof/heating etc.

ideally something super narrow and agile to make it around the woodland paths, and a pickup for logs and equipment.

I have seen these:

Anything else to consider?

Lots of L200s around for that price, should go on for ever if looked after;

Suzuki SJ pickup if you can find one, or a Jimny convertible with a bulkhead added. There's a company who put trays or load beds on the back of Jimnys, but might be out of your budget.

£3k may be enough to import a 4x4 kei class pickup like the Daihatsu or a Suzuki Carry direct from Japan, likely to be in better nick than one here.

Could you put with a series 3 88" Landie? You might just get one for £2k. Small and narrow. But noisy and slow. Better than an ATV though, just hehe

Not sure on dedicated UK importers (the Japanese car subforum can probably point you there), but on the other forum I'm on, there's a number of Americans using https://www.japancardirect.com

This one is closer to your budget, and probably more reliable: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Honda-acty-4x4-pickup-k...tongue outf:0

What about a cheap Jimny and a short trailer?

I don’t know anything about these. But for the budget I doubt you’ll get anything any better performing. Only real issue might be parts supply.

Unless you've got a time machine, it'll probably include the bin bags it comes in for that money.

I don't know why, but I feel the urge to buy that and use it as my daily! I'm only put off at the thought of it tipping forwards if I put a mug of coffee on the dash! biggrin

Not sure about parts but last week on 16th Oct I asked the Honda Main Dealer for rear bushes for my front lower control arms on my 4th Gen CRV and there's a back order from Belgium until mid-Nov so I wouldn't get them until the end of November. I called another Honda dealer who contacted Honda in Japan and the bushes will be arriving today.
