Evening all!

I have a Disco 2 that is used as a back up vehicle at work. She seems very down on power! Pulling a trailer today, which wasn't overly heavy at all ( my transit pulls it with ease!) and it was really struggling to get much over 40/50mph on the flat stretches of A1 between Peterborough and Grantham, the hill were embarrassing, having to drop down to 3rd gear!

Is there anything common that I could check which would could cause this?

Could be wastegate actuator, I had a similar problem where it would struggle to stay at 60 even on small inclines

Faulty air mass meter? I had that and replacing it made a huge difference. Night and day. Not expensive as I recall.

My neighbour had this issue a couple of years ago and it turned out to be the fuel pump. Apparently there is a low pressure inlet/outlet and a high pressure one. I think if the high pressure side goes then it runs but is significantly down on power.

First things to check would be obstructions in the air filter or fuel filter. After that test the MAF, fuel pump and check all turbo/I/C hoses are securely fixed with no holes. As also suggested, check the turbo wastegate is not seized.
