I've got one. It's the 2.8 Limited so comes nicely equipped; full leather, heated and electrically adjustable front seats, decent ICE with Sat Nav (and built in Hard Drive you can download your music to). Xenons would be nice but the standard headlights are ok and the fog lights work well. It's a workhorse for me and is doing a nice job out here in Sweden (over 20cm of snow today). The switchable 2WD/4WD/Low Range box is useful because it give reasonable economy in 2WD and the benefit of extra traction when needed.
I guess the quality isn't up to the same standard as other rivals. The interior feels cheap (inferior plastics) but otherwise it feels solid (the bonnet weighs a ton) and robust. I can't comment on the price of spares or servicing costs because I haven't had mine long enough but I expect they will be in line with other SUV's. I owned a LR Discovery some years ago (another workhorse) and that wasn't that expensive to run as I recall.

I'm looking into these too as we need a towing mule, but will also be used for the day to day commute...
Doesn't seem to be a huge amount of info out there, I assume as they really weren't sold for very long, but there's some decent information if you look hard enough. The US owners forums seems to have a lot on the 2.8 CRD, but I think it's generally more about the KJ variant - Not sure how much changed between the KJ and KK.
Either way, it looks good value for money at the minute, and more viable as a day to day option than the Grand Cherokee when you look at fuel costs and tax etc... Interested to see if any has any more information!

I looked at a Nitro before settling on the Cherokee and from memory, the Nitro did have switchable 2WD & 4WD. I think the big difference is that the Cherokee has 2WD and High & Low ratio 4WD whereas the Nitro only has 2WD or High ratio 4WD.
