I've just purchased a rather tatty Ranger Single cab which will become my beach vehicle. I wish to lift the vehicle not to look like a bad ass or to go of froading but to allow for as large a tyre as possible for use on sand. It would also be useful for the car to sit high for boat launching etc. I have contacted Blood Red Offloading to make me some 2'' lift shackles but what is the best technique on the front? Will this give enough lift? Should i go for a 2'' body lift or would this be excessive?

Thanks!
Jack

Have a look at the range of tyres suitable for sand .. The military tend to use Michelin types for sand, but you can also get sand ladders

If going much larger diameter don't forget about your gearing as well. Wouldn't width be better?

What type of Ranger? Is it the US F150 Ranger or the Mazda based one sold in the U.K.?

What age is it? As I've seen people call different generation trucks gen 1's. And what country are you in?

Is it a 4wd or 2wd truck?

Will it be used on the road?

Fat floatation tyres are likely to work well on sand.

It is a year 2000 UK 4wd single cab. It won't be used much at all on road. It will be on a closed estate and a beach.

I have contacted bloodied off road who are making me up some 2'' lift shackles. He informs me i can get 2'' lift on the front by adjusting the torsion bars. I am slo considering a 2'' body lift on top of this but i will see.

If it's the same setup as my double cab then it'll be torsion bar front suspension. Superlift do a 4" lift kit for these.
