It's beautiful. As an object of art.
Has it ever been off road though up to its diffs in mud? If not what's the point?
Don't think it's been anywhere. I'd use as it was intendedHas it ever been off road though up to its diffs in mud? If not what's the point?

I like Landies.
That's awful.
Each to their own. It was very striking. The sort of car that if I could afford would buy and keep forever. Me and my dog and chainsaw would use that as intended for years. That's awful.
I don't think it's dreadful by any sense of the word, but speaking as someone who had to use his winch last night to pull his mate out a bog in a local forest it's not really fit for my purpose.
If my purpose was to have the local Romanians wash it 3 times a week and to bling about the high street looking moody, then fine.

Glad none of you like it I'll pick one up in a few years for £10

Serious question. It seems to be a normal defender 90 with some black paint. How is the off-road ability affected? What makes it unfit for purpose. If my purpose was to have the local Romanians wash it 3 times a week and to bling about the high street looking moody, then fine.

What's the point in splurging all that money on blingy rims and shiny-shiny paint, when it's going to get scratched up the first time it's taken anywhere more challenging than a grass verge?Pesty said:

That paint finish would have lasted 10 seconds last night as I took it through the scratchy pine trees, the rocks under the Heather would have wrecked the alloys as I went in the mile to get my mate who was stranded the night before when he was shooting, and the tyres look too road biased to get me to even near the boggy part he was axle deep in.
Then after all that I'd have had a wrecked defender and nothing to show for it as it would have been a pointless journey as with no 13500lb pull winch on it as I have on the front of mine I'm not pulling anyone anywhere.
Horses for courses. That's a pimped up urban cruiser and aesthetically I like it but it's no bloody good to me in that state of trim.

Well obviously you would have to be well off enough not to care or to be able to get it repainted regularly if looks mattered.Personally I think using that as intended crutches and all would, look great. Wabi sabi etc.
Somebody in here showed a pic of their brand new RRS in the mud a while ago and it looked ace.
Just because it looks like the sort of car some people would pose around in doesn't mean you have to as well.
Then again I have. Car just for dogs and wood and exploring ( still amazed by this crv) if I owned that defender it would look like st too by the end of the week.
For my use it would be fine. Mild off reading Odd muddy field lots of hard tracks with holes in, odd beach/ sandy place etc.

I don't wish to be unkind, but the owners son of my local drug funded money laundering tanning shop drives a very similar landy but with a private plate and more lights. Oh the lights...
I can't help associate the car with that image. Wrong perhaps but there it is.
So yeah. Not for me. I'm genuinely happy with my dog rough looking but rebuilt where it counts disco 1.

I understand personally I've never cared for what other do with their cars. I get criticised for doing things like this.
Had a similar load in the crv and drove up a long muddy pot holed steeping track with it too.
You'd better belive that 90 would be used. If I could afford that I imagine I could afford something else to pose around in, not that I pose around in cars.
