That old chestnut of the bonnet struts failing has happened after 4 years on the old pair.(supplying dealer fitted when I bought it)
The OEM are bloody expensive and the e-bay ones are very cheap, and therefore suspect.

Any recommendation's of what to buy ?

Kent Gas Springs do one end (front or back, can't remember which) & my others came from Ebay, probably one of the jeep specialists.

When I had my WJ I bought a pair of struts from seller msg0750 on the bay.

No issues, worked fine and were still OK whan I sold the car.

Got a set of bonnet and tail-gate struts for £31 of the 'bay.(there are slightly cheaper examples on offer, but these say they are lifetime warranty)
Did notice the tailgate OEM's have a better top fixing solution, giving more swivel movement than the replacements.
Just have to see how they go over time. But already the bonnet stays open so that's a result !
