Oh dear while the rest of the world gets a 2.8 diesel or a 24valve V6 petrol we get the tiny 150 hp 2.4
and will have to wait until the winter for a 3.5 ton towing capacity...
Come on toyota UK you bunch of losers or do they think people will buy any low spec low powered thing just because its a toyota???? a quick look on toyota au or nz leaves me feeling sad !!!!

Saw one earlier today at our country show. An invincible model in grey. Looks well, shark nosed, interior has gone the way of most cars with touch screen ipad style interface which looks like an afterthought, rear leg room is impressive and the load bed comes with a spray on liner as standard. Side steps are standard on the invincible and optional on the rest. Towbar is extra.
Sales man said Toyota UK have shot themselves in the foot with the lower 3.2t towing capacity on the double cab and only the 2.4Ltr available, should be 2.8Ltr and 3.5ton capacity like Oz and NZ. They've had two forward orders cancelled over the towing capacity. Over all it looks the part and hopefully is as good as the last model.

Thanks , Ive ordered a base model extracab to replace my current one, for me its an improvement as the current working models have the 2.5 liter and the new engine is slightly up on BHP 150 v 144 but much more torque, about the same as the current 3.0 , I think toyota GB are playing a dangerous game if they think they will sell the 2.4 to existing 3 liter customers!! the other marques are in a horsepower race, VW with a V6 diesel and the others with more power,
If I was toyota GB I would be offering the V6 petrol as a flagship along with the 2.8 otherwise all they will end up with is the working end of the market, and my opinion is you pay a lot more for very little on the top models and that is where the biggest profit is...
