Hi all, my cousin has a 1st generation Porsche cayenne and would like to do some light off road (on stock tyres).
I used go with a friend of mine whom had a nicely kitted out defender to some wonderful green lanes up north but I would imagine one would get stuck in less than 30 seconds if they tried to do it with road tyres.
Would there be some green lanes near London which would suit this car or any other suggestions please.

You could go down a single track road in the wet?

Seriously though, cayennes aren't that amazing off road, and on the wide, low profiles they run I would imagine it will be pretty hopeless in anything wet & muddy, such as the whole of the south east!

You are right of course, just what he is working with and wondering how far one could take it.
Would you have any recommendations for anything near London we could go to.

Afraid not, I haven't had my defender long enough to go exploring yet! There are some shorter stretches down near guildford that I plan to check out however.

It's a bit of a trek from London but for sheer size and ease of access for Der Range Röver Vogel you could do worse than head for Salisbury Plain. A lot of the trickier stuff is off limits at the moment due to being waterlogged but the MoD range tracks are well maintained and probably about the limit for the Porker.
Just check on line for any military exercises that may close certain areas.

Some of the off road clubs do tyro events which are totally non damaging, they often let kids over 14 compete in them. They are tame and just tend to be in a big field.
