For reasons too embarrassing to go into on here, I'm in desperate need of a replacement front o/s ABS sensor for my mates 2000 v6 petrol Trooper. None of the usual aftermarket parts places hold them and Isuzu want £400+ and three weeks back order! The MOT is out so the car can't be used until I fix this. Any suggestions where I might get one quicker and for less than that?

May possibly have solved this myself. just discovered ITOC.co.uk and they have a workaround with a Mazda sensor.

It's still a work in progress, doing all the ball joints and cv joints too. Everything is rotten so has taken ages persuading old nuts and bolts to move. Got the bodged Mazda ABS sensor on one side and ABS light has gone out which is promising, should do the other side this week, test drive at the weekend.

It looks like the Mazda sensors are working, well the ABS light has gone off and it passed the MOT.. The brakes are a bit crap and its got big tyres so it's early impossible to lock the wheels on Tarmac to test the ABS out. Wiring the sensors in a way that will last and keep water out was an utter ball ache as the Mazda ones have a different connector, not that I could get the old connector apart anyway.

Getting sensors off a breaker is near impossible as they all get corroded into the hubs and you can't get them out without wrecking them. Buying the hub with the sensor in would be the only way I think.
