Mitsubishi Shogun Sport off road
Discussion
Hi folks
I have been offered a Mitsubishi Shogun Sport 2.5 diesel for not very much money. It doesn't have the super select, but it does have high / low range and diff lock, that can only be used when on loose surfaces.
I want to use the car for towing and for the occasional off road / green lane session. I live near Salisbury plain and have always fancied going up there in a 4x4, not on a unreliable moto x bike. There is nothing quite like breaking down in the middle of nowhere, with a mate whose quad also konks out at the same time. T'is chuffing brilliant.
So, I am just wondering what are these cars like to drive on the road? Are they any good when it gets a bit muddy? I would put some decent A/T tyres on, so hopefully that would make some difference. I have also read that these cars like to launch their engine, is this actually true? Or is it internet garbage.
The truck in question has covered 70k and has had a very good service history. No tow bar installed and generally looks in good nic.
Cheers people

I was looking at an earlier one, had convinced myself I could out up with those figures then found out it was the 98bhp one. Gave up at that point and bought a 4ltr LPG'd Jeep.
SS is based on the L200 which I've seen doing pretty well off road.
Really didn't fancy something quite that slow and the aftermarket off-road options didn't seem to be too great, all depends how cheap you get it though, could always buy now and sell winter if you don't like it.
