I need to replace the BFG MT tyres on my Defender. Change of usage means I'm going for ATs this time (265/75R16).

I'm looking at General AT or BFG AT and I want them to have at least a modicum of low temperature ability. So, do either or both makes' ATs have the Mountain/Snowflake symbol on them? Is one or other better in UK low temperatures?

ETA Could I also ask, is the BFG AT KO2 available yet? I can't seem to find anywhere listing it?

Thanks

and a quite google shows that new one does too http://www.bfgoodrichtires.com/tire-selector/categ...

don't expect them to work like a proper winter tyre mind!

Now why couldn't I find that? Probably because I was looking on the UK website, which also seems to answer my question about availability: July 2015.

Can't wait 'til then, so it looks like I'm going with the General!

My GG AT2's have the snow flake on them, found them pretty good in snow,

What are you going to do with the BFG muds ?

This, my experience was that BFG A/Ts were quite good in deep snow but rather alarming on ice or hard packed snow.

I've gone for the Cooper ST Maxx myself which by most accounts is better than the BFG in the snow and rather a good AT tyre all round.

General AT2 would be my choice in wet and snow, just the edge over BFG.

How do the Cooper ST Maxx (mentioned above) and the newer GG AT stack up against the AT2?

IMHO the General AT2 would be my first choice, the new General AT is not snowflaked.

Looks like it's AT2s for me then.

Hadn't given it any thought.

They're all BFG MT. One's a KM2 that I'll be keeping as a spare. The rest are KM1s - one with a chunk taken out of the sidewall (MOT fail), one with very little tread and two with plenty of tread. If you're interested, I'll take some pics and you (or others) can make me an offer. Location=West Yorkshire.
