I have recently taken delivery of my first 4wd, a Mitsubishi Outlander. I realise that this is far from a full fat 4x4 off road vehicle, but am wondering just what it is capable of.
I would like to find somewhere I can have a play off road, nothing too technical and certainly not where there is a chance of getting stuck in a bog and needing to be winched out, but somewhere I can explore how the car behaves away from tarmac on inclines etc.
I live near Bristol, so does anyone have any suggestions of where I could go or how I could find somewhere suitable?

I was looking for somewhere a bit more challenging than nailsea precinct!
Do you know somewhere near Nailsea or are you asking if I live in Nailsea?

Hi,
Have a look for 4x4 / off road courses or training in Avon:

Thanks for the suggestion, your search shows why I am not finding it easy to find somewhere to go. The first 2 pages of results do not find any courses near Bristol (except one on Dundry which seems to have a no longer available website).

I looked for a pay and play site, but in my area only found the Dundry course and a dead link to the website.

Buy an OS map and head over to Salisbury Plain, observe the restrictions and use the byways.

Have a chat with GLASS Wiltshire rep first - he will be able to recommend tracks suitable for your car.
