hi all, just wanted to give you all a heads up.
i just ordered 4 tyres from these guys http://www.event-tyres.co.uk/ (nothing to do with me honest) and for 4 tyres they knocked £25 off for bulk buy.
if you need tyres soon then honest john has a code here http://www.honestjohn.co.uk/reader-offers-and-priz... and it knocks another £25 off.
best bit is they are mobile and fit on a saturday so a week tomorrow my landy gets a new set of boots and i don't have to waste 3 hours drinking piss poor coffee on my saturday off waiting for some 17 year old to ask me if i want nitrogen in my tyres!
all ordered online and confirmed by email
as an aside, they do know air is 71% nitrogen anyway don't they?

Just had a rear pair fitted on my car by them.
Fantastic service. Fitter phoned up in the morning with an ETA and was within 5 minutes. The first thing he did was check the car over for any damage, which I suppose is for his own benefit. Once he'd looked it over he explained what he was going to do and how he was going to do it, in that he wouldn't be using a gun on it as he didn't want to mark the wheels. This endeared him to me as I would have objected to a gun on them.
Anyway, he jacked the car up with an air jack after cracking the bolts, took his time and care over everything, possibly as I was hovering around (It seemed like a good time to clean the callipers and hubs ) He struggled a bit with the fitting as they're wide and low profile (285 x 30 x 19) though got them on eventually and without any rim damage. After he balanced them (one wheel at a time obviously) he actually waited while I sprayed some black on his new weights as silver stood out. OK, a bit anal this, but black weights look better on black wheels.
He also checked the pressures with me before he inflated them, a nice touch as the car's not standard so he wanted to be sure. Also asked me the torque settings and ended up using my wrench as it was already set and recently calibrated.
I'd have no hesitation in recommending them, and will use them again.
As for the person who suggested using a local fitter, the guy I usually use doesn't deal in the tyres I wanted (Vredestein). He reckoned that he could get them, but it would have cost an extra £50 per tyre. I also tried another dealer who came up with a similar price.
Finally, I know that this is the off road section, but a tyre's a tyre, and I do have a Jeep as well.

right i can now update this as the tyres are fitted and lovely.
the guy who came from event was a star, he balanced all 4 tyres, took care of the alloys (i don't it's an off roader) chatted away, told me everything he was doing and even when half way through, put the wheels back on so i could let the daughter off the drive to take her car to an mot only she knew about (i had warned eveyone i would be blocking the drive, all about slope).
he was great, the price i paid was the one i had been told, no hidden bits, and he arrived when he said he would.
great service, i'll use them again, definitely.
