One from last weekend of my Defender, we were out racing in France at the Jeane de la Fontaine Rallye.

Great weekend and we managed 1st diesel, 3rd in production and 22nd overall.

Six Brits entered, me, Guy Thompson, Paul Lund, Dave Burley, Rick Mann and Charlie Bonsey.

Only me, Guy and Charlie finished and all got cups.

Would that be the Paul Lund who used to build Rover V8's?

What sort of car is Dave Burley driving now? I remember vividly his VW sandrail type car with Blaze Bowden as his co-driver. The rumour was that if they didn't use the petrol money (due to retirement) they'd spend it on vin rouge!

Have Terry Banyard and Chris Brennan competed recently? Last I heard they had build a TT MINI...

Must be a long time since you were in the loop.........

Paul Lund used to do bike and car circuit racing, never involved to my knowledge in V8's.

Dave Burley is in a 4x4 French buggy now and will have anyone who is brave enough to sit next to him as he is getting very old, and still drinks more than the buggy uses fuel.

Terry Banyard and Chris Brennan have been racing the Mini for some time now, at least two years, powered by a very special M/C V8 built by his dad.

I should hope so in 2 inches of water.......that old Bimmer would have been on the back of an AA truck if it attempted what we went through. Hahaa.

2004 Plaines et Vallees was my last TT event as a co-pilote...I do miss it!

Must be well over 2 years for the Banyards, they'd been racing it a few years the last couple of times I went racing at Plaines, and that was 4-5 years back
