I need a car for dog duties collecting wood etc etc. ( plan was to sell my saloon and get an estate but think this idea is better)

Must be reliable will be used very little so either petrol or diesel. I'd rather spend 1 k but I'll go up to 1.8 for something if I have to.

I've out swb pajero/ shogun just because I think they are cool.

no experience other than my old mans mk1 crv.

It does dog and tip and wood duties very well. He loves it.

There are (as anything) very good ones and poor ones out there - but his (2 owner, 110K, 2l petrol auto) is very much in your price bracket and is good VFM in my opinion. (Avoid the Jap imports - they rust)

- turbo if it's not been replaced with the "fixed" version and welded rather than crimped intercooler (diesel models)
- rusty sump; just mild steel so goes porous
- seized brake callipers. Check the disks for even wear.

That's about it. I've had two and been very happy with them.

Thanks I'm keeping an eye on one but through a wild bid on something else. I'm still winning part of me hopes I lose because it's probably very stupid but we'll see.
