Hi,
can anyone suggest a tyre fitter near Basingstoke who can remove tyres and runflat rims from a set of 5 blindo (WMIK style) alloy wheels?

cheers

We did a load of them just over a year ago. Would have to ask the boys how nasty a job it is.

Hi,
thank you for replies, got the tyres removed from the rims this afternoon my local tyre fitters - no runflat rings just very heavy Blindo alloy wheels! On the up side I have scored a set of brand-new Michelin XZL for the Series One :-) those combined with the refurbished 569690 16" x 5.5" steel rims will restore the "old-school" look and improve the steering lock which is, quite frankly, appalling for an 88".

Root cause of this is the 16" x 7" Discovery rims which are like steel flowerpots (all the width is inset), that combined with 7.5" X 16" tyres means you have to pick your line even on mini roundabouts. Makes life difficult for my Dad when the 88" is working on the wooded hillside in these greasy conditions; we haven't had to rename it lightning yet (cause it keeps striking trees) but he's had a few near misses!

Pics to follow in the appropriate thread.
