Hi all,

My dad is after the above for his Amazon as it will likely be cheaper than MR T (2200 + vat and fitting!). He wants a full system but is unsure if LPG will affect the type of system at all? I Assume he needs to keep the cats on for MOT time....

Any recommendations/advice? He is in East London / Essex boarders.

Cheers!

lpg makes no difference than petrol use. If its post '92 (?) it will need the cats for its mot usually. I got the ones on my jeeps made up at powerflow dealers, single exhaust systems from the cat (which i supplied) back were both around £300 each.

Yes it's an 02 ish I think. One place has mentioned temperature increase due to the LPG thus needing special cats but this doesn't sound quite right. I'm hoping he can get a fairly normal system made up and it will clear the ECU codes which we believe are due to a faulty cat (or two!)

Probs on the 4.7 v8 include cracking manifolds, which is a pain.

Before spending a fortune on a new exhaust have you looked at adding a http://www.flashlube.com/gb/ system? should save your valves.

I know a couple of people (me included) who have used http://www.pro-speedexhausts.com/ for a full stainless system, but you need to be clear that you don't want improved sound.

I would LOVE a 4.7 10 serie- very jealous.....

Thanks for the info, he is already using FlashLube smile. Pro-Speed seem to crop up a fair bit.

Have you looked on the Landcruiserclub.net forum? there's at least one chap on there with the exactly the same setup (although he's now sold it)

I had a pro-speed exhaust on a 4.2tdi 80 series;

Very very well made exhaust, but it only had one small silencer and got a bit boomy.

Tuning of silencers is key, so you need to make sure you properly discuss your requirements with him- amazing exhausts though- and seeing someone make exhausts from scratch is always an eye opener!

He sold his 4.2TD 80 series (with nearly 400k on the clock!) to get the 100. Think we are waiting on a quote from Pro-Speed at the moment but good to hear you were happy with the work.

Also looking into a system from http://beauexhausts.com.au which should be a straight replacement.

With respect to the mot, I had a 98 discovery on lpg with a full stainless decat system.
The rule was that if it was presented on lpg then it was tested on lpg, which handily uses precat limits so no cats required.
