Hi guys, I bought a 2003 shogun warrior swb in April. It had new Yokohama road tyres all round but reading reviews, it seems they will be useless come winter.

So I am after some half decent wheels and tyres to fit to the shogun over winter, and maybe use them as off roading wheels.

What wheels fit my model of shogun any ideas? Do the old shoguns say mk2 fit mine?

Any other ideas apart from eBay?

Cheers guys

Yokahoma Geolandar A/T - Good in wet, snow & off road, not too pricey, quiet, last >50K, Good load & speed ratings.

Tescos now sell tyres (through Black Circles) so you get a good price & points on your card. You just choose where you want them fitted & buy the tyres.

MK2 wheels won't fit. I have General ATs on mine, and they're fine in all conditions I've used them in. My only problem is they howl so loudly that now they're about half worn it's pretty much impossible to have a conversation at motorway speed.

The new GG AT's are very good.
Not to be confused with old GG ATs, or AT2s.

Also GG UHP are good for mostly roads with a bit of snow and muddy tracks.

Another vote for General AT, great tyres at good price.

Just ordered Yoko Geolanders for the Jeep changing from General G UHP's which have been great for a road bias tyre.

Got a good price from Black Circles and with the Tesco points with fitting 1/4mile from home.

Also go a quote from Micheldever Tyres and they would have done a cheaper deal on a set of the General UHP replacements - they are prepared to haggle....

Hmmm, I have Mk3 16" wheels on my Mk 2 ('96) LWB Shogun, standard wheels were 15", no problems.

Just to close my post on black circles - price was good but fitting experience awful from their premier fitting centre.
Next time I will use Michledever/Protyre.
Black circles took no interest in sorting out our complaints about fitting.

The MK2 has large hubs that extend through the centre bore of the wheel. MK3 wheels have a much smaller hole so won't fit.
Shogun Sport is a different matter though.
