Morning People.

I'm currently in a BMW 530d touring and I'm interested in getting the above. The wife wants a 4x4 but I cannot spend £££'s and these cars seem like a decent little runner with plenty of extras.

Any owner reviews welcome. What sort I look out for, & are they really juicy?

Thanks

built for the yanks and never did well over here; hence the prices your seeing. i think for the money you cant go wrong, but i wouldnt spend the earth on one as the depreciation is killer.

hopefully your mrs doesnt do many miles as they have a serious thirst.

I wouldn't really call these "off road vehicles", although it is a 4x4. So this might not be the best place to ask about them.

I've heard they are rather thirsty, almost Range Rover V8 sort of thirsty, and frankly if I was pouring that much fuel through something, I'd much rather a Range Rover than a Nissan.

the wife has one and loves it.

lots of kit and reverse camera
individual looking
loads of space, bigger than x5 and xc90 we considered. for Pram and dog

the cheap price compared to other options above meant we had more to deal with the fuel bills. we get around 18mpg.

had no technical issues touch wood in 18 months of ownership.

watch the original top gear review on YouTube.

oh and it goes well.

good reviews, only real risk is the CVT box which can go. also the CVT drive is a bit marmite. Try one.

I considered one but concluded a Lexus RX would be a better bet (if more money), then bought an E500 instead.

or just buy your wife some winter tyres and save a lot of hassle

Is that 18mpg on average? Or just around town? I looked at these before as only do around 8k on average and most of my driving is local but wasn't sure what mpg i could expect.

What ? Because it's not a land rover or on snow tyres - hardly a reason not to have one.
