... those old CJ jeeps they were knocking out in India some 20 years ago with pug diesel engines ? (Mihindra ???)
They had a bit of publicity when they hit the market here, for being cheap I suppose.

The Mahindra! A friend of mine picked up a rotten one for pennies a few years ago. He spent a couple of weeks welding it up and got it through an MOT and took it offroading, but they are a hateful thing. Very crude, very uncomfortable and no power. If you think car technology peaked in the 1950s you might enjoy one though!
