Im trying to get the specs on General AT tyres (what size fits what rim etc)
The US based web site lists details for the "AT2", which I thought had been replaced with the newer "A/T" tyre ?
Is there a general tyres UK office I could contact? Ive googled but couildnt find it.

Southam tyres in Warwickshire will help.

The AT2 is still available in many sizes, 235/75x15, 225/75x16, 235/85x16 and 265/75x16 to name a few.

The new AT tyre is aimed at the SUV market more with many new sizes to suite most 4x4 and SUV models.

The General Tire range are all well priced and have a very large following, I have been a General Tire dealer for many years.

General Tire are owned by Continental Tyres.

My understanding was the AT2's don't meet the euro car noise regs these days so are only avaiable in commercial vehicle sizes (you can easily get AT2s in 235-85-16 for example)
AT meet the euro noise regs so are in all "suv" sizes

How do the AT stack up against the AT2? Not that I need a new set yet as I've only done 20-something k on mine so far biggrin

Very good, but I still like the AT2 which is still available in many commercial sizes.

Don't forget the AT is more directed at the SUV market and had General had to move towards it because of EU noise regulations.

Yep, and noise is my only slight grumble about the AT2s. And as, despite my best intentions, I rarely use my D2 off road I was considering something more road biased.

Had the new General AT's on the Discovery (235/70 16).

Very competent all round I think for an AT tyre, and reasonably priced at £100 a tyre fitted smile

I used to get 80-100 miles out of a set of AT2s when racing in the British off road championship, which was painful!

Not surprised as they were never designed to race off road on, we have customers getting 40K+ on normal use.

There again they don't like the nasty knally grippers that work and grip for what you need.

The AT2 is my first choice and still has a fantastic following with my customers.
