Hi All,

You know the sort of story, I need a dog carrier, start looking at £500 Subaru estates on eblag, have a few beers while browsing and then buy a £6500 Jacked up, boosted up, winch clad bright orange Landy! As shown below.

She has clearly been enthusiast owned, has had alot of work done. I bought from a dealer who knew nothing about it and drove it home 300 miles last night. Lover her to pieces!

At tickover it sounds like a Mack truck and a blip of the throttle results in a lot of turbo noise, she shows 1.5 bar on the aftermarket boost gauge and goes like stink. I just wondered with this being a tight community, if anyone knew her that I could check out her past and work done.

Also some questions, are Recaro seat mounts all teh same, these ones are too scruffy for my good ladies delicate behind, so will have to be re-covered or replaced.
Where do I buy one of the alloys, some bugger nicked the spare off the back.

LETS OFF ROAD!

Why don't you go to google and type 'Land Rover Alloys'. It really is that simple. Have a look at Silverline 4x4 for modular and alloys. If you want genuine LR wheels, then only a few types from the LR range fit the Defender, so check in advance.

No, not all seats can just be slotted in. Some fabrication will be required. Saab seats are very popular.

Exmoor trim manufacturer complete seats, but they are pricey at £300+ each. However, they will bolt straight in.

Whislting noise could mean the Turbo is on its way out. Short of the engine being a JLR V8, I don't believe you when you say 'it goes like stink'

Landys are cool. Best of luck smile

That is one hell of a longshot! I mean who on earth would put a photo on a forum and expect to find information on a specific car?

It DOES go like stink and sounds awesome! I spent 10 days breathing its black smoke in The Pyrenees in 2011.

PM me, I have the owners number. biggrin

don't worry the turbo has whistled on all my turbo diesel landies (had 3) i like the noise.

if its a chipped td5 he could well have 170+ bhp under his right foot.

OP make sure the bonnet is not nicked smile (doubt it is), i know of someone who had a puma version and woke one morning to find it had been relieved of its bonnet.

i read somewhere recently that land rovers are now the 5th most stolen car in the UK?
