Off Roading in Aberdeen

So I've been giving my Disco Td5 some "agricultural" use recently and have caught the bug.

Can anyone recommend some good pay and play or events in the Aberdeenshire area. I've done a bit of googling and am finding very little other than full comp. It also seems due to Scottish law green-lanes are out the question apparently. I have been out exploring the area but am a bit dubious about tearing up somebody else's countryside.

Same here mate. Nowt that i know of in Aberdeen.

I was going to get a set of modulars chunky tyres for some trecking but seems it isnt to be up here.

I'm a member of the BORDC which is my outlet for offroading and there's a few vehicles in the club which are pretty standard albeit with MT tyres. Next event is Potarch forest in April.

I've looked into BORDC, but was thinking it may be a bit heavy going for my boggo' Discovery and novice status. Are the events open to all or is it strictly members only?

Will take a look into the Edzell club too as I'm only in Aboyne I might not have too far to travel.

It's pretty cheap to join, occasionally there are forest drives and stuff which is a bit more gentle than the standard RTV. Come along to the next event, even if only to get a feel for what goes on. Apart from illegal offroading, there's nothing else in this area....
