As per title, can anyone recommend a good 4x4 experience place that they have used? Preferably near London or in Kent.

This place came up during my search and has resonable looking prices, but are the off road course/ instructor any good?

Thanks smile

My boss got given a half-day (for two people sharing) at a Land Rover centre when he bought his RR: from memory they're about £300 and it was fantastic! Being an official Land Rover experience you get given the latest toys to play with...

Thanks for the recommendation Animal smile Unfortunately, LR do not have a centre near me.

As for the latest off road kit, I have a strange hankering to drive an old Jeep Wrangler rather than any of the newer stuff. Weird eh? hehe

Why not look out for a local off road club like the FWDC.com and ask if you can join in on a trip? There are plenty of people who'd let you drive (subject to insurance)
Where are you based?

Thanks Nigel, I hadn't thought to check that site. Location wise, I tend to flit about between London, Canterbury (Kent), and Rochester through the week, so anywhere near London or in Kent would be best.

The plan is to arrange a group day, hence why I think an experience centre would probably be better than imposing ourselves on an owner's club event.

I can however see myself getting into it, and buying a 4x4 of my own in when finances permit, so will check back with the FWDC smile

Very good guys, recently relocated to Ashford. They have an H1 Hummer (which I've driven!) and a Bedford army truck biggrin

Oh and they did have a blue 4.0 litre petrol Wrangler when I did my full day experience a few years ago.

^^ Excellent, thank you. I had looked at that site, and it certainly looks like a decent place. Will probably be going end of Feb and shall report back.

The other one to consider is John Morgan down near Brighton, he owns a couple of sites down there and does experience days as well as pay and plays.

I preferred True Grip though, and it sounds like they've raised their game a level at the new site. It was professional before, but it was basically run from a portacabin at the site!
