I did CCV trials for some years from '83 but stopped when I became fed up with the concrete front garden necessary for trailer storage.

In '94 I bought a one year old Discovery and have used it for RTV trials, randonees and such like ever since.

I had some funny looks in the early days long before Discoverys became cheap but it is remarkably effective and surprised a few people.

Used to in my defender, was RTV secretary for a while in my club eight or ten years ago. Gave it up as it was my daily driver, and it was becoming uncompetitive, that and I wasn't prepared to take damage. If I ever get my series one on the road, will probably do a couple of nice ones for fun.

I used to trial an 88" Diesel Series One with MROC; great fun. I tried RTV with my Bowler in the AWDC but the 100" wheel base was no match for 80" specials.

I've done rtv's for the last five yrs .
First 2 1/2 yrs in disco's, and in my 90 since, it's good fun, I end up helping setting up these days, which is a chore, but if no one does it the events don't happen!!

Yup RTV'd and CCV'd leafers and coilers for about 10 years in the Lakes. Had some good times!

Stopped last year when I was bending the chassis main rails at just our RTV's. At that sort of level Rallying wasn't much more expensive!

What were you doing with the cars to bend the chassis? Do you mean denting them on rocky ledges?

When i started stage rallying back in '95, after several years of Comp Safari, i thought pretty much the same. But, 3 events in and 3 complete re-shells later, well, maybe not........ ;-)

Used to Tyro in my old Shogun when I was 14-16.

Since purchased 3 other Land Rover's that I haven't had the opportunity to trial(they have all been sold), but I am saving up for a Disco or Defender to start trailling with the AWDC again smile
