Need UJs for my TJ
Discussion
Hi all
Got a '98 TJ
Looking for UJs and hit Jeepey who have two different in stock -
(had a quick read of the rules of posting, this isn't for personal or commercial gain but if it's not allowed let me know)
Spicer:
http://www.jeepey.com/shop/product/u-joint-axle-sp...
Other one:
http://www.jeepey.com/shop/product/u-joint-axle-41...
But I can't see the difference between the two?
I know poly ones last longer, but not sure if these are? If not, does anyone recommend either one of these or another brand? Need them fairly quickly so want somewhere UK and in stock.
Any help appreciated!
Sas

Hiya. Got a YJ which has the same props as yours.
I've replaced all the UJ's in both my front and rear props recently.
Dana Spicer parts are top-quality, OE bits. The others you linked to are pattern parts.
In my experience, the main thing is keeping on top of pumping new grease into these joints regularly - that's what counts. Poor maintenance = knackered joints.
It's a given when buying that you must buy joints that have grease nipples in them!!!
What I did was this. I bought genuine Dana Spicers for my rear prop, as it does the most work, and pattern ones for my front prop (all with grease nipples)
I then made sure I packed them with the correct Moly grease before assembly (meeting NLGI-2 spec) and then I made sure I regularly pumped in fresh grease, especially after lots of wading.
No problems so far....
