Any reasons why I should not buy a SWB Shogun/Pajero?

OK, I'm not anticipating any actual off-road stuff, but this seems to be the forum most likely to produce a result, negative or positive remains to be seen.
I don't normally drive very far, so fuel consumption isn't a big issue for me. I've always liked 2 door cars and I like Shoguns which I have driven extensively.
Being a tall person, and getting older by the day, I find taller cars easier to get in and out of. When it snows my Volvo estate gets stuck in the sloping car park which is the only one I can feasibly use, so the 4wd will be useful there.
Appearance-wise I like the older shape better, in terms of what I'm happy to pay, somewhere between £1K and £10K.

Having had a 2000MY one for 5 years, I would say not a lot, like all Japanese off-roaders, they don't go wrong often, but parts can be expensive. In our five years the only non-service items have been one exhaust (consumable anyway, replaced original!), one air con pipe (not cheap and expensive to fit) and one wheel bearing (could be considered a consumable at this age). Fuel consumption of petrol engine is not great (but you know that). Has this go anywhere feel about it, excellent in the snow, pulled BMWs (thats plural) and a UPS Van out of ditches. Comfortable for long distance driving, but require a bit more concentration at motorway speeds than a typical car.
I had a 3.2 diesel Shogun SWB.
I ran it for 12 months and 80,000 before some low life stole it. I loved it as a great all rounder. It was surprisingly nimble too..
Interior space is very tight, with the rear seats only really suitable for children, the boot is a joke also.
I used to run in 4WD all the time as it did feel more secure on the road and ditched the OEM tyres in a couple of thousand miles as they were dreadful.
