(07Grand Vitara tyre options
Discussion
Recently bought a Grand vitara(07 model)as the wife wouldn't drive the L200!
Main uses are my commute (50 mile round trip each day), usual family stuff, and towing my westfield/trailer to race events which often consist of muddy fields etc. We do also live in the middle of nowhere so 4x4 really halpes out in winter etc.
Current tyres are just the standard road biased tyres but will need replaced in the next month or so.
Had Bf Goodrich on my L200 and loved them - plenty grip and were slightly larger profile than standard so looked great.
Anyone got chunkier tyres on a vitara offer some tips on what works well? BF Goodrich obviously an ooption but wondered if there was a cheaper option that would still offer the looks/grip/durability?
Cheers,
Dave

Not a Vitara but on the Grand Cherokee I put General ATs on. No noisier than the mix that was on before, we had a mild winter last year but they coped with everything I could find. They also much to my surprise sharpened the steering up. They also have around 10mm of tread & are seeming to last forever!
Back onto thinking about replacement tyres in time for winter...
What do folk think about a set of these...

on this...
???
Wasn't sure what tyre size I would go for either?
Currently wheels have 225/65/17. All of those options in 16" seem smaller when I thought the idea of the 'offroader' look was smaller wheels with chunkier tyres?
Or do you think it will look better with standard wheels with a slightly chunkier tyre?
Cheers,
Dave
