Hi we insured our modified Jeep Wrangler with Frank Pickles a year ago for just over £200. Come renewal time they've told us the company underwriting that policy is no longer offering this type of cover and the best quote they can offer is nearly £500!! It's a 3rd car and we do less than 3000 miles pa.

Have pinged a few companies today (inc Adrian Flux) for quotes which I'll get back later in the week. With Gocompare I can get £484 but I wasn't able to fully list all the mods.

Would appreciate any recommendations for any other specialist 4x4 insurance companies that I can try to get a better premium with.

Thanks in advance!

Glynwood - Just brought a XJ for off roading and a 3rd car, 3000k P.A, not a requirement to have any no claims as they understood its a 3rd car. All in including off road and green lane cover £200.

I'd have jumped at £500!

AF are quoting me £2500 before modifications frown

Haven't tried the NFU yet but just emailed Glynwood

Glynwood will insure with all modifications,

Frank Pickles will only insure if its heavily modified.

Update. Got a quote now from 2Gether. £274. A shade under Glynwood. Decided to go with 2Gether in the end. Happy with all the mods. On 3000 miles pa. Turns out they use the same underwriter - Highway - that Frank Pickles used to use. Thanks everyone for your help. thumbup Saved me over £200!!
