Before you all laugh!!!!

My father in law has a 2.7 Auto Rexton (The flagship one) on a 54 plate...

He's about to have a pace maker fitted and has decided to get rid of the Rexton and the small car my mother in law has (which he hates) and get something they can both drive.

So he's said I can have the Rexton, clearly I am as it's a free car!!

But are they any good? Off roading or otherwise? I notice Mike Brewer on Wheeler dealers has one he tows a twin axle trailer with so they can't be all bad?

Yay or nay?

Loads over here. Seem decent enough. Big looks, with slightly unconventional looks, but they seem to be comfortable, and nice enough inside from the few glimpses I've had. They seem able to belt along on the motorway as well.

No prior knowledge but I always rely on Honest John for a good review.

We have 3 dogs (2 large, 1 medium) so my thinking is that it'll be good for them, it's OK if it gets scratched or dirty!

Well, it's cheap, and you get what you pay for, bit it does seem to tick a lot of boxes for a useful, beefy vehicle.

Not driven one for 5/6 years but when I drove a delivery mileage one I was impressed, plenty of car for the money. Didn't tow or off road with it.

from what I've heard from reviews etc, it most definitely falls in the "cheap and nasty" category not the "cheap and cheerful" one.

Having just read his review on my car I wouldn't trust a thing he says!! If he thinks the handling is worse than a live axle Mustang, I can only assume he hasn't driven one.

ETA - And if he reckons the rear view in my LWB Shogun is poor, he is clearly a man who drives without reference to wing mirrors. Huge wing mirrors. Which give you amazing all-round vision.
