New Ford Ranger

Looks good, but why do other markets get the 3.2 engine in the 4x4s and we have to go top of the range to get the big motor ?? oh It woudnt have to be very good to better the nissans reliability!!! I was on the verge of buying a navara in 06 friend bought one and it spent more time in the shop than on the road, axel ,electrical ,paint etc,and engine failure at 65k he traded it in for another thinking he had been unlucky only to have it all again.
There is also a new isuzu coming soon, twin turbo engine and new chassis
maybe worth a look ??
I think toyota and mitsubishi will need to up their game both are looking hoplessly out classed esp by the towing capacity .....

Buy an Amarok. They're better than the lot of them.
I have had 3 Hiluxes (Invincibles) and a Navara in the past 8 years. The Amarok beats them all hands down. Incredible performance, great off road (I'm a farmer so need proper performance in the rough) and 34 mpg. It is physically much bigger than all the others which can make it tricky in town but other than that, I'm confident that if you drive on you'll buy one.
Don't be put off by the ignoramuses who say "but it's only a two litre"!!! The twin turbo gives it 170 bhp and I have towed some decent weights on my Ifor Williams with it and it whistles along. Mind you, the mpg isn't great with 2.6 tonnes on the back!!!'m

I drove a 2.2 150 Ranger the other week, miles ahead of the old model in terms of comfort. Also felt a lot more solid on the road, probably due to the size of the thing. There's also a lot more room for rear seat passengers (double cab) and the rear leaf springs are different to give a less bumpy ride. The addition of a 6th gear for cruising is a benefit as well.

shame we can't get the 3.2 inline 5 with the base trim, cloth seats and unpainted bumpers
Yes hopefully people will try and tow the full rated train weight with the 2.2 and a number of warrenty claims makes them see sense..non of the manufactures realy get the specs right in the uk, I looked at the isuzu dmax extended cab, no ladder rack and no tie downs on the bed rails ,hilux poor towing capacity, Gassing Station | Off Road | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
