My Next mod will be a set of new MTs as the current ones are looking low, this isn't such a issue whist it is dry but they stuffer in the deep sticky mud. Being a 2nd toy I will most likey buy a set of 4 over a few months spreading the cost etc. the issue is I havnt a clue what are good and what are bad. Looking for 35/12.5/15 for around the £200 each area. They have to be road legal but only enough to get me to the off road center and back.

I used to use insa turbo dakars on my 90.You couldnt go wrong with them and I never got stuck.
At less than 3figures per corner you wouldnt want to cry either if you ripped one.
Good tyres, dont be put off because they are cheaper than the premium stuff. They perform just as well if not better in some cases.

Not sure what you are running at the mo or what mods. But 35" tyres on an XJ will need some serious lift and likely some serious hacking to the arches. Perfectly doable though biggrin

That said, the stock axles are not likely to take kind to 35" MT's, so if you've still got a stock front and especially rear axle, expect to need to upgrade them at some point.

As for tyres.... depend on how much you want to spend and if you want to go remould or new.

Lots of choice from Simex to Silverstone, to Interco.

Are any of these useful?

35/12.50R15 MAXXIS M8090 CREEPY CRAWLER @ £145 each.

35/1250R15 BF GOODRICH KM2 113(Q)@ £160 each.

35/1250R15 WILDCAT DURANGO XTR 113 (Q) £94 each.

6" lift, diffs, lockers etc are already done. I understand diso rear diffs are pritty weak.

Inc vat I'd like 4 fitted for £800. I like the BFG as they look useful but not over kill. The silverstone look mental but I'm worried they Wont fit my 10.5 steel rims as they only do a 35/11.5/15 and I'm lead to believe I need a 12.50

They should fit on a 10.50 rim but some places might not want to fit them. I've got some 33.11.50R15's on 15x10 rims.
